Are you a talented student with a passion for storytelling and engaging writing? Do you have a knack for conducting interviews and writing compelling articles that inform and inspire? BYU Public Health is seeking a creative individual to join our team as an Editorial Writer. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to our department's content strategy by writing companion articles to our "Y Health" podcast episodes, news articles about research projects, and highlights on students, alumni, and faculty members.

Responsibilities:

  • Write companion articles to "Y Health" podcast episodes, providing additional insights and context to our listeners.
  • Craft news articles highlighting the latest research being conducted within our department.
  • Write engaging highlight articles featuring special awards, achievements, and noteworthy events within the department.
  • Produce conversational-style articles that engage readers and encourage interaction with our website.
  • Conduct interviews and research to gather information for your articles, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Adhere to provided guidelines and training materials to maintain consistency in writing style and content format.

Qualifications:

  • Current student with strong writing skills and a passion for storytelling.
  • Ability to conduct interviews and research to gather information for articles.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write in a conversational and engaging tone.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality work with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Previous experience in journalism, writing, or content creation is preferred but not required.
