CLOSED BYU-Pathway Communications Internship

As a communication student employee, you’ll assist the communication manager in highlighting the impactful work of BYU-Pathway Worldwide and EnglishConnect. In this collaborative role, you'll help develop, write, and deliver both short-term and long-term client projects.

This position requires versatility, as projects vary widely — including creating web content, managing editorial calendars, writing internal and external messaging, interviewing students to capture compelling stories and quotes, researching relevant issues and solutions, and performing administrative tasks as needed. Overall, you will gain practical experience applicable to the communication field and build your professional portfolio.

This is a paid part-time internship located at the Triad Center in Salt Lake City. The office operates on a hybrid schedule (partially remote and partially in-office), but candidates must reside in Utah or Idaho and be enrolled in a Church Education System higher institution. Work hours are flexible within the standard business hours of 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities:

· Attend weekly collaboration meetings with the communication manager
· Review upcoming tasks and project requirements
· Create and edit communication-related content
· Manage ongoing and short-term communication projects
· Maintain client relationships and handle project requests
· Assist with content production

Qualifications

Skills:

· Strong writing, editing, and communication abilities
· Current studies in communication, English, journalism, marketing, or a related discipline
· Experience creating web content through content management systems
· Experience conducting interviews
· Ability to follow directions and meet tight deadlines
· Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
· Attention to detail
· Familiarity with email campaigns (preferred)
· Second-language proficiency is beneficial (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French preferred)

Preferred Program Skills:

· Microsoft Word, Excel, and online office applications (Google Docs/Drive)
· Experience with WordPress, BrightSpot, or similar web publishing/content management tools
· Basic understanding of Dynamics Marketing or other email marketing platforms
· Basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
· Experience writing content for social media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

Online Learning Technical Writing Internship

The Online Learning Technical Writing Intern plays a vital role in assisting users of online Seminary, Institute, and BYU Pathway religion courses. Support is provided through email, support tickets, and occasional virtual conference calls. The intern also contributes to writing, revising, and proofreading communications sent to Seminary and Institute employees worldwide. Additionally, they help develop and proofread technical resources for both internal and external audiences. The intern supports various projects assigned by the Course Support Coordinator.
