Readers trust Salt Lake magazine to be on the front lines of local fashion, trends and dining.
We curate the experience of living in the Intermountain West through profiles of the people shaping our growing state and region, delicious recipes from top chefs and essential guides to help readers find the best of everything in Utah and beyond. We specialize in great storytelling. From explorations of Utah history to the stories behind the headlines, we’ve got our finger on the pulse of the Beehive State. Throughout our two decades of operation we’ve been winning legions of sophisticated, educated readers who are curious and crave new experiences. From food to travel, from the mountain trail to the night out after, we drill down past the obvious to find the best, the unique, the special.
Our emphasis on great storytelling and content is coupled with a commitment to quality design and production. No other medium can capture the flavor, color and rhythms of the region like our beautifully produced magazine.
This is a writing and research intensive internship, and our interns work between 2-4 days a week and write weekly stories for the web as well as contribute to the print issue. Interns will assist editors with research, story prep and other projects critical to publishing a bimonthly magazine. Interns may also occasionally be asked to assist with projects for sister magazines Utah Bride & Groom and Utah Style & Design.
The ideal candidate is a journalism or English major and will be able to receive school credit. Please contact Ashley Szanter (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information and reference “Salt Lake magazine editorial internship” in the subject line of your email. We will send an application form which should be returned to Christie via email, along with a current resume and a writing sample.
